Conclusion:
Its hard to think about how much of an Impact that one food item can make. The growth from a crop only existing in the Americas to something found everywhere is a prime example of globalization. Realistically it wouldn't make sense to feed fish corn, but its cheap and readily available (so farmers do it). The price and availability is what allows some products to spread world wide(in this case it is corn). The globalization of anything depends on the potential profit turn out. The problem with the globalization of corn is that it only works in the best interests of the big businesses that are pumping large amounts of corn into world markets. Family owned businesses cannot keep up with the vast amounts of product that are being turned out by the subsidized industries which in turn hurts the little people locally in a financial way. It's cheap for consumers to buy, but what are they really paying for?

3."HFCS contains contaminants including mercury that are not regulated or measured by the FDA."
4."Independent medical and nutrition experts DO NOT support the use of HFCS in our diet, despite the assertions of the corn industry."
5."HFCS is almost always a marker of poor-quality, nutrient-poor disease-creating industrial food products or “food-like substances”."
